About

Avoncroft Museum is England's first open air museum located in the lovely town of Bromsgrove in Worcestershire. It is home to over 30 historical buildings from the Midlands spanning a time period of 700 years, which have individually been rescued, deconstructed and then lovingly reconstructed and restored in the grounds of the museum.

The historic buildings include that of a traditional Second World War prefab from Birmingham, an authentic Victorian tin chapel and a Black Country chain shop to name a few.

Guests will have access to explore the museum and learn about the different buildings from various time periods between each part of your wedding. Take your wedding photos in various locations on site, you might want some outside the traditional windmill; perhaps amongst the National Telephone Kiosk Collection or have a laugh and take pictures on the traditional Privy.

There are three gorgeous spaces to host your wedding.

The Mission Church

You may have a religious blessing in the museums traditional and authentic Victorian tin chapel. With a traditional wooden interior, you can transport yourself back in time.

Ceremony capacity - 90 guests

New Gueston Hall

Say your vows, host your wedding breakfast and reception underneath Worcester Cathedral Hall's original 14th century Grade II- listed roof. With gorgeous medieval oak beams and exposed brickwork, this room can be transformed into the perfect romantic setting. Choose to have a fairy light canopy to make your day even more magical.

Reception capacity - 180 guests

The Long Room

On the upper level of the museum's 16th century String of Horses building is the long room. Perfect for smaller weddings, this building is full of character, charm and has a gorgeous timbered interior.

Reception capacity - 50 guests

If you would prefer a more intimate gathering, you can choose to hire the Traditional Edwardian Tea Room outside of museum opening hours.

Catering

Avoncroft has a list of preferred suppliers for you to choose from, giving you freedom to have your wedding food however you choose. Each caterer has a different option, from a traditional three course wedding breakfast to a summer barbecue feast, the choice is entirely yours.

If you choose from one of Avoncroft's packages you are able to have a traditional afternoon tea, complete with finger sandwiches, homemade cakes and savoury bites.

Extras

There are so many additional extras to add to your wedding to make your day extra special and that little bit more unique.

Train

You can hire out the train and entertain your guests with the museum's unique train ride. It's fantastic fun and makes for a great photo opportunity.

Personalised Favours

As you are holding your wedding in a museum they are offer the option to add on personalised favours. These can either be an Avoncroft Museum miniature brick or a small hand forged iron heart forged at their very own forge - it is a fantastic keepsake for your guests.
