Batch Country House

The Batch Country House has been hosting weddings for over a quarter of a century now, and having successfully entertained a fair number of the South West's marrying couples, has gained quite a reputation for itself. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, and only 10 minutes from the sea, and 15 to the M5, this hotel is perfectly situated.

Able to cater for up to 200 guests for a reception, fully licensed for civil marriage and partnership ceremonies and even boasting a licensed outdoor pavilion, The Batch Country House offers a flexible and highly practical location for wedding celebrations. More importantly, owners Anna and James' personal service is indeed something to be admired, and to complete the all-inclusive package, The Batch also maintains AA 5* rated luxuriously appointed bedrooms, available to your wedding guests at a discount.

About

The Batch Country House only opened its doors to the public back in 1964, but the building can trace a history stretching beyond 1870 – the point where the current owners' family took up residence. Today's hotel is run by James and Anna Brown, whose family have occupied the house for over four generations.

The hotel is located in the hamlet of Batch, home to a few houses and farms, and parallel to the Berrow Flats (Brean and Berrow).

The Batch Country House is a family home - operating it to the highest standards, and maintaining its gleaming reputation, is truly the very cornerstone of James and Anna's identity and lifestyle.

Facilities

This bright and airy room boasts exposed oak beams, and its generous dimensions and welcoming atmosphere recommend it as the perfect environment for medium to large wedding receptions (it's also licensed to host civil ceremonies). The space is also ideal for evening receptions thanks to its spacious dancefloor.

The Garden Room

This space features large French windows leading out onto a decked area, gardens and the pond, and can seat between 40 and 90 guests for a formal reception.

The Ivory Suite

For couples who enjoy the appearance and aesthetic qualities of a marquee, but don't relish the hassle of setting one up, the Batch Country House's Ivory Suite is perfect for you. This 'indoor marquee' features ivory draping and brass chandeliers, along with a sparkling LED canopy of stars. The room is equally ideal both for formal receptions and for evening celebrations.

Capacity - 60 for a formal reception, 200 for an evening party

The Pavilion

Although all of the hotel's rooms are licensed to host civil wedding ceremonies, if the weather holds out, the Pavilion, enjoying its ideal position within the serene gardens, makes for the perfect place to get married. When a sudden change in the weather is likely, James and Anna will happily prepare an alternative ceremony room indoors!

Accommodation

The hotel has 21 luxurious bedrooms, some of which are four-poster bridal suites, otherwise a mixture of twins, doubles and family rooms. All bedrooms are ensuite and feature TVs, telephones and a Wi-Fi connection.
