History

The Denbies Estate was purchased by Thomas Cubitt in 1850, and it remained in his family for 130 years, during which time it has hosted many royal visits, the first by Prince Albert a year after Cubitt's acquisition. On this visit, the Prince planted some rare conifers that can still be seen today. In 1984 Adrian White bought the estate and the vineyard was planted in 1986. Since then, Denbies has been family owned and run and is now one of the UK's largest wine producers. The company competes on an international level and has collected multiple rosettes for its sparkling wines, as well as proudly receiving the UK's first ever gold award for rosé. Nowadays, it still operates as a successful vineyard and has latterly become a beautiful wedding venue.

Facilities

Unique extras provided at Denbies are a wine-tasting session or a ride on the vineyard train, perfect to entertain your guests while you are having wedding photos taken or a great activity in between wedding breakfast and evening reception activity. As a complimentary wedding favour, Denbies includes a voucher for each guest, to return and enjoy a free wine tour at their leisure.

This delightful outdoor area is licensed for civil ceremonies with up to 80 guests. Exchange your vows under the pretty gazebo.

The Conservatory Atrium

With a flowing fountain as a centrepiece surrounded by tropical plants, The Conservatory Atrium is lavish and atmospheric. For large celebrations, it can be combined with The Garden Room to accommodate up to 350 guests for an evening celebration.

The Gallery Restaurant

Catering And Accommodation

Denbies Wine Estate fields a fantastic in-house catering team, who source all produce locally where possible. The chefs are happy to create bespoke menus and present a complimentary tasting for brides and grooms who book the venue. Of course, full advantage is duly taken of the fantastic wines produced at Denbies vineyard, and you can rest assured that the drinks will contribute significantly to an unforgettable wedding celebration.

Accommodation

The original farmhouse at Denbies has been refurbished and now contains seven ensuite double bedrooms, perfect for the happy couple and their immediate family. Usage of the rooms includes a delicious full English breakfast the next morning, a perfect way to end a fairytale event. For other guests, there is plenty of accommodation of all styles to be found in Dorking.
