  We are members of the Little Ship Club and it was the first place we considered for the wedding of our son and daughter-in-law; it could not have been a more perfect choice. The situation of the Club as we already knew is superb, sitting right on the banks of the Thames, just next to Southwark Bridge. There are floor to ceiling windows in all the main rooms, making the most of the superb views. You step out directly onto the Thames Path on the north bank of the river, so not only were our guests able to sip their drinks by the riverside at the start of the celebrations, but in the evening when the disco started, the youngsters danced under the stars as the river flowed past. We were blessed with fine weather but even if the weather had not been kind, the view is still stunning.
  The Little Ship Club is the only sailing club in the City of London, and is full of fascinating sailing memorabilia, including one of the distinctive Club ensigns, rather tattered, which was found on the beach at Dunkirk during the evacuation.
  
  The reception began in the lounge, where there are comfortable traditional leather armchairs to relax in, and in due course the folding doors into the dining room opened wide and we went through for the meal. The food was first class and the service impeccable. The staff as always were efficient, attentive and friendly, and clearly very well-trained. The dining room, as with the other main rooms, overlooks the river and its ever-changing panorama.
  
  After the speeches we went back into the lounge. There is a dance floor in the centre of the room so it was perfect for the disco that evening. The lights of the lounge dimmed and bride and groom took the floor for the first dance of the evening, with the lights of the river behind twinkling through the windows.
  
  A big big bonus is that there is a car park about 20 feet from the Club and it is all under cover. Where else in the middle of London can you find such a stunning venue, where you can park your car and whatever the weather, walk just a few yards in the dry to the entrance? Perfect for a wedding and indeed for any other event. Our thanks to everyone who made the wedding such a memorable occasion. You do not have to be a member of the club to use this unique and very special venue.

  My daughter held her wedding in this idyllic setting. We have nothing but praise for all aspects of the club. The staff are superb and nothing was too much trouble to make the day go without a hitch. The chef was wonderful, and his food some of the finest I have eaten. Certainly the best at any wedding I've been to! Can thoroughly recommend this little gem hidden away beside the river.

  My husband and I threw a party for our friends and family to celebrate our recent marriage. We chose the little ship club because of it's excellent location on the Thames and also because it was family friendly for our guests that bought children.
  
  We were not disappointed with our choice. The venue has great character was a good size for the number of guests that we had (approximately 110). It was really nice that we could go out onto the Thames walkway to have some photos and admire the views of London throughout the course of the evening. It also has a good dancefloor area and a quieter seating area.
  Although my husband and I didn't have a chance to eat on the night, a number of guests have commented on how good the food was.
  
  The staff at the venue were accommodating and flexible of all our requests and they were extremely professional as everything ran like clockwork.

  I was really impressed with every aspect of this lunch to celebrate a friend's landmark birthday. The tide was in and the sun shining into the Club making the setting by the Thames stunning.
  
  But it was the quality of the drinks and food that followed that make this a very clear 5* place. Since we went here last month I have dined in another London Club and this one is so much better. There must have been getting on for 40 of us and the way service worked was very professional.

  I hold lunch meetings at Little Ship Club several times a year. All are excellent in terms of both food and service. The general consensus of the fifteen of us at our last meeting was that the already high standards have improved further. Coupled with Thames River views which are hard to equal and the general ambience of the whole club the venue remains one of the best in London
