About

Originally used as a storage facility for the proprietors' farm, little can be ascertained as to the earlier history of the barn. However, we can be certain that the surviving building on the present site dates back at least two centuries to a construction date of 1806.

Maidens Barn's renaissance can be credited to current owners Katherine and Clive Matthews, who turned the once dilapidated shell into the stunning wedding venue that stands today, which has proudly served brides and grooms for the past twelve years.

Facilities

Start your day in the brand new prep room where you and your loved ones can enjoy a relaxing morning of pampering and preening.

The older and grander of the licensed spaces is the Elm Barn. With its vaulted ceiling and expansive open areas, this building is especially suited to wedding breakfasts and informal evening celebrations. The Oak Barn is resplendent as the new addition - an ideal wedding ceremony room, light and airy with a splendid view out across to the scenic oak tree in the adjacent gardens.

For summer celebrations, there is also a wedding arbour set in the decorative gardens, designed to present the picture-perfect, idyllic and romantic setting for any outdoor wedding ceremony.

All these available rooms are designed to cater for both intimate and larger wedding parties, with exclusive access throughout the entire wedding day. Additionally, the venue now features its own in-house DJ for couples planning a good evening's celebration.

Catering

The in-house chef and catering team at Maidens Barn produce and serve up the finest dishes from the freshest locally-sourced ingredients. Couples will be invited to one of the venue's tasting evenings, when you can choose the best fare for your wedding.

Graduated catering packages allow their range of menus to offer increasingly elaborate and mouthwatering dishes, depending on your personal preference. The conventional wedding breakfast can be shelved in favour of a more informal barbecue or a hog-roast, and a buffet can be provided for the evening festivities.

All items such as china, table linen, napkins and cutlery will be included, as well as waiting staff and your wedding coordinator.

Accommodation

There is accommodation onsite with 14 guest rooms available for your nearest and dearest.

The charmingly romantic Hideaway Cottage is available to hire in addition to your event at Maidens Barn. Hidden nearby in the surrounding countryside, this beautiful cottage is reserved for the lucky couple only, featuring its own lounge area, a king-size bed and a kitchenette with all the makings for a delicious breakfast.
