Facilities
The Abbot's Hall
Originally the main room of the Abbot's residence, and later the sitting room of Laurence Olivier and Vivien Leigh, the Abbot's Hall is a perfect space for more intimate occasions. Its wooden beams and 14th century fireplace add character, while its massive windows add plenty of gorgeous, natural light.
Civil ceremony capacity - 100 guests
Wedding breakfast capacity - 60 guests
The Monks' Refectory
With its foundations built in 1162, this spectacular stone barn space lends itself wonderfully to larger weddings. Its large windows give it a light airiness for ceremonies, and, when candlelit for evening banquets, it brings to mind the monks who would have originally dined there nearly a century ago.
Civil ceremony capacity - 164 guests
Wedding breakfast capacity - 164 guests
The Walled Garden
The Walled Garden provides an al fresco ceremony space like no other. Sitting on the original site of the Abbey, some of the wall is actually constructed from its ruins. A nook in the wall provides an aesthetic focal point, and the space easily accommodates weddings of all sizes.
Civil ceremony capacity - 164 guests
The Reception
For evening receptions, up to 250 guests can be accommodated throughout the house.
Whether you choose to keep your guests in the Monks' Refectory for a barn-style wedding celebration, or to adopt a house-party feel by opening up further rooms, all of Notley Abbey's stunning period facilities are at your disposal. After all, it is all yours!
