History
The mansion was built in 1887 by James Hudson as a lavish family home. He named it Capenor, after a much earlier house which had existed nearby. He also built a number of interesting features which still survive today, such as the camellia terrace, a Bailiff's house and a series of secret tunnels to a sand mine.
After a series of owners, and serving during WWII as the HQ of the Royal Canadian Airforce, the mansion is currently owned by TLP Ltd, operating as a conference centre and events venue.
