History

Originally a private home created in 1835, this stunning building draws its name from being built on land previously owned by The Priory of Bath Abbey. The gothic-style house continued its role as a private home until the 1960s, at which point it was converted for a brief time into the dormitory wing for The Park School, before it was bought again in 1969 and transformed into a hotel with seven bedrooms.

Following 25 successful years, the hotel was finally bought in September 1994 as the Brownsword family's first hotel.

The Garden Spa by L'OCCITANE

Exclusive Use

Almost worthy of its very own section here on The Wedding Secret, The Bath Priory's 'Exclusive Use' package contains much to boast about! You have the entire hotel to yourselves, including all the bedrooms, spa facilities and gardens, from 3pm until 11am the following day. Indulge in the inclusive afternoon tea or evening buffet, canapés and award-winning 3-course wedding breakfast.

If you book an exclusive wedding at The Bath Priory, you and your guests will also be entitled to use of the Garden Spa and its facilities.

The Gardens

Four acres of gardens will have you occupied for hour after hour, whether you find yourself simply strolling through dew-swept, meticulously trimmed lawns, partaking in a charming game of croquet, or just sitting on the sun-drenched terrace.

The Reception Rooms

The Bath Priory has five principal reception rooms available for your wedding day:- the large Drawing Room (perfect for ceremonies), the Terrace, the intimate Library, the spacious Pavilion (ideal for reception meals) and the Orangery. Each of the rooms is suited to a different stage of your wedding day, and each has its own capacity limits. Catering

The Bath Priory's restaurant is the proud holder of a three AA Rosette!

The multi-award-winning Restaurant is overseen by Executive Chef, Michael Nizzero, who has 14 years of experience working across the UK, Europe, Dubai and his native Belgium, including under Michel and Alain Roux at the three Michelin-starred Waterside Inn and most recently at The Ritz in London.

The Bath Priory also has its own dedicated wine-cellar maintained by their sommelier, who collates a balanced variety of highly-desirable wines from around the world. Treat your wedding guests to only the finest of vinous beverages.
