The Crafty Hen

The Crafty Hen provides a series of fun, unique craft-based experiences all around the UK, offering Hens the opportunity to get together and create bunting, fascinators, jewellery, garters, nipple-tassels or customised knickers! Devised, delivered and supervised by personable professional craftwork specialists, these tailored workshops are suitable for Hens of all skill levels - they make a great ice-breaker for groups of friends who may not have previously met, and present an enjoyable experience that everyone will still remember the next day!

Better still, your closest friends and family will be working together to create festive bunting in order to decorate your wedding venue, or special jewellery to wear on the big day, and as a result, your forthcoming nuptial celebrations will become even more unique!

Workshops can take place at any venue of your choice, be it your own kitchen or your favourite cafe, and the lovely ladies at The Crafty Hen are more than happy to arrange for your session to be accompanied by cakes, tea, and a bottle or three of bubbly!

About

The Crafty Hen is the brainchild of Julie Roberts, a highly experienced textile artist and workshop leader. As her company has rapidly gone from strength to strength, Julie has been recruiting professionals from all over the country, and the delightful workshops can take place in a location that best suits you, or within a number of specially selected cafes or bars.

Each session will be carefully tailored to meet your individual party's requirements. Everything from the bride's chosen colour scheme to her favourite cake flavour and preferred background music will be taken into consideration, and whatever location you choose can be beautifully decorated with festive strings of pretty bunting!

If the bride-to-be is planning a vintage-inspired wedding, many of the workshops can be focused towards this theme through the introduction of vintage and antique lace.

Workshops

With all the help and guidance taken care of by an experienced team, get together to create something uniquely memorable over pots of tea or a bottle or three of bubbly!

Textile corsage and accessories workshop - Learn how to stitch together and layer the prettiest of fabrics, then decorate them with buttons, ribbon, lace and Swarovski crystals to fashion dazzling brooches, corsages and hair accessories.

Fascinators - Create a unique fascinator to wear on the big day from a vast collection of net feathers, sinamay fabric and decorative beads.

Knicker customisation - The Crafty Hen can readily provide ribbons, bows, sequins, lace and plenty more to help you pimp up your pants!

Cocktail rings - Using sequins, crystals and all things sparkly, design and produce your own standout cocktail rings to match your wedding outfit.

Garters - Created from beautiful lace and ribbons, add a variety of bows and trims to personalise your garter, and then let the bride-to-be choose her favourite!

Nipple-tassels - Have a giggle (or perhaps even a titter?) while fashioning your very own nipple-tassels with sequins, glitter and silk.

Bunting - Fun and productive, make metre after metre of unique festive bunting for the wedding from a wide selection of fabrics and colours.

Bespoke sessions - As The Crafty Hen can call on the services of experts all over the country, should there be a particular skill or craft you would all like to learn, simply let them know and they will do their very best to arrange a bespoke session just for you.
