About
Jackie Coventry
As an amputee and fibromyalgia patient, Jackie started practicing Mindfulness in order to help manage her pain. Having worked as a registered nurse and later as a counsellor with Relate and with young offenders and their families, Jackie decided to pursue Mindfulness teaching as a career. She now holds a Mindfulness teaching qualification from the University of Bangor and aims to introduce Mindfulness to people from every walk of life.
Mindfulness
Introduced to the Western world in 1979 by John Kabat-Zinn, Mindfulness is a method of holistic stress and pain management taught through various meditations and other practices. "It is developed by purposefully paying attention in a non-judgemental way to what is going on in your body and mind and in the world around us," says Jackie.
