History
Circa 1890 Roger Cunliffe, who lived at nearby Headley Court and owned the ground at Tyrrells Wood, asked for the sizeable mansion to be constructed. It is thought that he wished for the building of such a grand house so he could take advantage of the stunning countryside panorama that it would look out upon.
James Braid charged ten shillings and sixpence expenses for his design for the golf course at Tyrells Wood - which is just £11 in today's money! Both clubhouse and course have remained largely as Braid and Cold intended them; Tyrrells Wood is now regarded as an exclusive and stunning Surrey wedding venue.
