About
Upper House Hayfield is an ancient farmstead dating back as far as the 14th century. The building was acquired by Mayor of Manchester, Sir James Watts, who retained Upper House as his shooting lodge.
Watts set about improving the house, taking on many highly skilled architects, masons and craftsmen. The estate was later used solely for recreation and many societal figures were entertained here.
The house now belongs to the Hudson family who have spent 12 years lovingly restoring every aspect of this remarkable venue.
