History
Marden Park Mansion is an Independent Roman Catholic Church boarding and day school for girls, now located in Marden Park.
The school as an entity was founded in 1842 by the Society of the Sacred Heart, an organisation promoting girls' education which harks back to the time of the French Revolution. It was originally located at Berrymead in the Acton district of London.
The imposing mansion which now houses the school was built in 1888 by J W C Fegan, and the girls subsequently moved in!
Notable Woldinghamians include Vivien Leigh, Caroline Wyatt, Louise Mensch, Clarissa Dickson Wright and Carey Mulligan.
