Botleys Mansion

In the midst of the beautiful Surrey countryside just south of Chertsey, this Grade II-listed 18th Century mansion lies amongst 56 acres of lush, green parkland. This exclusive use wedding venue can accommodate 288 day guests and 500 evening guests and houses twelve lavish bedrooms.

With an expert, in-house catering team and a Wedding Planning Management Team to take some of the stress off your shoulders, this stunning example of Palladian architecture offers everything you need for a truly elegant and classic British wedding, all under one staggeringly gorgeous roof.

History

Owned at one time by King Henry VIII, Botleys Mansion's original building is believed to have been constructed in the 14th century. It proceeded to pass into the hands of numerous owners who let the house remain unaltered, until it was purchased by MP Joseph Mawbey in the 1760s.

Notable architect, Kenton Crouse, proceeded to completely redesign the house. The mansion that now stands was built between 1765-1769 at the same time as Crouse was remodelling 10 Downing Street.

Damaged severely by a fire in 1995, Botleys Mansion underwent a £6.5 Million restoration project and was purchased by Harper Weddings in 2009. It has been used to host weddings and events ever since.

Ceremony and Reception Rooms

The Green Room

A soft, light space that has been lovingly restored to reflect the elegance of a traditional English country house, the Green Room can host ceremonies and smaller receptions, lending an air of intimacy to your wedding day.

Ceremony capacity - 131 guests

Wedding breakfast capacity - 80 guests

The Atrium

Originally an enclosed courtyard, a glass roof was added to the Atrium in 2009. It has since been lavishly decorated with crystal chandeliers and interior materials that give the space the natural feel it originally had, whilst maintaining the same sense of grandeur possessed by the rest of the house.

The Temple Garden

For those with smaller guest lists who wish to take advantage of Botleys Mansion's stunning grounds, the Temple wing of the Atrium opens out onto an aisle pathway that leads through the Temple Garden and is a beautiful and serene ceremony location.

Receptions

Up to 500 people can be accommodated throughout the house for an evening reception for those couples wishing to extend evening invitations to further guests. As an exclusive use venue, the house lends itself wonderfully to larger parties, allowing your guests to spill into its various rooms.

The Dining Room, the Morning Room, and the Library are all lovely spaces to allow your guests to socialise and relax in, and offer further space for added extras such as a photo booth or casino games.

Catering and Accommodation

Harper Weddings boasts its own specialist team of chefs and caterers ensuring that your wedding breakfast is the delicious banqueting experience that it deserves to be.

All dietary requirements are easily catered for, and as a couple, you will be invited to enjoy a menu tasting prior to your wedding, to ensure your options are absolutely right for you.

Accommodation

Along with a bridal suite that is the absolute epitome of luxury, eleven further bedrooms are also available within Botleys Mansion to house your nearest and dearest. For the rest of your guests, numerous hotels and bed and breakfasts are just a stone's throw away.

Visiting Botleys Mansion

We know that many of you will be eager to visit Botleys Mansion. The team will do their very best to ensure you are given an appointment on your preferred day and time.

They are continuing to do what they can to protect their staff, and upcoming weddings, so they kindly ask that you help them by maintaining their Covid-safe practice. This includes wearing a mask inside their venues, sanitising at every opportunity, and keeping socially distanced from the staff. They will ensure that the venues are well ventilated, and their thermal cameras switched on to detect anyone with a high temperature.

If you would rather view their venues from the comfort of your own home then they have very snazzy systems in place to allow you to keep the show on the road and would be delighted to take you on a virtual tour to discuss your plans and ideas, and give you a bespoke quote - all via online video chat.     As soon as we saw Botleys Mansion, we knew this was the venue we wanted for our wedding. Starting at the bottom of the sweeping drive, working its way through the stunning surroundings, up to the double staircases at the front entrance, to the Green Room and finally to the conservatory – everything about the venue definitely has the wow factor. The grandeur of the exterior combined with the elegant, well looked after, modern interior (which retains classic touches) really makes for a truly stunning venue. The planners were great to deal with in the lead up, always there for help and advice throughout. The team on the day were exceptional! Big shout out to Dan who ensured our day ran without a hitch. All in all, the team went out of their way to ensure our day was perfect and we can't thank them enough. Especially coupled with the beautiful food, cocktails and wine. All in all a 10/10 experience.
