History

This Grade II*-listed Victorian country mansion has witnessed several changes of ownership over the 160 years of its existence. It was originally constructed in 1850 by local architects J Foster and J Wood as a residence for inventor and sugar refiner Conrad Finzel. Then called Frankfurt Hall, after the German town near his birthplace, it has undergone many additions and alterations and was subsequently owned by a Bristol shipbuilder, and then housed St Brandon's School from 1945 to 1991.

The neo-Jacobean exterior exhibits the beautiful oolitic limestone – amongst other Mendip stones - for which North Somerset is so widely known. Step back from this impeccably designed edifice and take in the stunning vista that is presented by the landscaped gardens. With an impressive mixture of shrubs, lawns, bushes, trees and natural wildlife, you could easily lose yourselves in this serene paradise during the quieter moments of your wedding day.

Facilities

Clevedon Hall's multiplicity of useable rooms has to be one of its greatest features. Tie the knot in the magnificent Great Hall, toast your future health with a champagne reception in the Conservatory, then move on through to the atmosphere-rich Grand Library for your formal wedding breakfast.

Once the more formal aspects of the day are over with, it's time to discard the jackets, loosen ties, kick off the high heels and dance the night away. Whether you choose to celebrate in the Great Hall or in the elegant and intimate Snug is entirely up to you!

    This is an amazing venue with excellent staff. We were lucky enough to get married here on 22nd Sept 2017 and right from the moment we walked in for our first visit to the moment we left the day after the wedding, we literally couldn't have asked for anything more! Special thanks to Simon and Ellie who was there to support us through all of the planning, and a massive shout out to Verity who was there on the day & did an amazing job & supported me all the way, nothing was too much trouble.

    Just had the most amazing day celebrating our Wedding at Clevedon Hall yesterday. I always knew that if and when we tied the knot this would be our venue choice, the amazing grounds and house make it the perfect place!

    From the planning to the actual day could not have been a better experience! With their friendly but professional approach you could not expect more and the bedrooms for us and all our guests were luxurious - all our friends and family were made so welcome.

    August the 6th! Our special day. My now husband and I could not have chosen a better venue to hold our wedding. Throughout the whole process the staff have been exceptional, nothing has ever been too much and they go out of their way to make sure that your day is perfect.

    Emily and Leonora, thank you so much for helping us organise our special day you have been fantastic. Sola, what can we say, you made our day run smoothly and had everything organised to a T! I couldn't have asked for anymore!

    The food was delicious, the best wedding food I have ever had. Having the option to design our own menu was important to us and you created our vision perfectly. The guests couldn't stop talking about the quality of the service and food!

    Clevedon Hall itself is stunning! The rooms inside the building are stunning, newly furnished the rooms are vibrant and elegant, the bedrooms are something else, it felt like I was a princess in my own castle! The grounds are beautiful, you could not ask for a better setting for photographs and videos, they are extremely well looked after by the gardeners.
    I would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a venue.

    The team at Clevedon Hall (in particular Leonora and Sola) were absolutely terrific. Right from the beginning they did all they could to help us. Leonora answered ALL my questions with patience and kindness - nothing seemed too much. The venue looked absolutely beautiful! Sola even managed to button up my dress when my bridesmaids couldn't quite do it!
    Thank you so much to all at Clevedon Hall - I would without hesitation recommend you to anyone thinking of choosing a wedding venue.

    We had our wedding here two days ago and what a special day it was. The whole process from the moment we booked it has been a pleasure. The day was truly magical and with the attention to detail you have captured every moment that we have been dreaming about for the last 16 months. We couldn't have picked a better venue for us it was perfect, the grounds house and rooms are stunning but it is you guys that make it.

    The service throughout the day was faultless and we were made to feel very welcomed all day long.
    Emily you did an amazing job throughout the planning and put an answer to our every last question.

    Ellie you went above and beyond very friendly and nothing was too much hassle whenever we spoke to you.
    Verity and the team helping set up, hands down to all of you. You spent the time to go through everything in the drop off meeting and you truly captured everything we asked for.
