About
At Derby Museums they truly believe each wedding is unique. They offer you the opportunity to design your own wedding, giving you the freedom to create your vision. They don't offer set packages, instead allowing you the freedom and creativity to make your special day whatever you want it to be. There are four beautifully unique venues within Derby Museums for you to choose from, with the ability to build your day across more than one of their stunning venues. Their experienced staff can offer advice and suggest trusted suppliers to help you plan every detail. It's your day, it should be perfect for you.
Facilities
Locally better known as the former Central Library, this space has been transformed into an ideal wedding venue full of character with features such as the striking arched entrance and beautiful glass atrium. Offering a quirky backdrop for anyone seeking something a little alternative for their wedding ceremony - why not say 'I Do' in the bay window or underneath the ornate mezzanine balcony full of curiosities?
This venue is accommodating to more intimate celebrations but has the space for larger gatherings. There is a plethora of options for layout, with its spacious floor and open design making this the perfect space to continue your celebrations into the evening.
Exclusive Access
Wedding venue hire includes exclusive access of the library, providing you with the opportunity to decorate and the freedom to choose your own special touches. Derby Museum and Art Gallery on The Strand is an adjoining building and interior access can be made via our grand staircase for anyone who wanted host their ceremony in a gallery before celebrating in The Wardwick.
If these spaces are not quite what you are looking for but still want authentic historic charm, Derby Museums have to other venues that may suit you:
Museum of Making
and
Pickford's House.
A fully staffed bar is on offer at this location, a variety of drinks packages are also available including arrivals drinks, table drinks and even signature couples' cocktails. Derby Museums can provide canapes and an afternoon tea at this venue. External catering is more than welcome if there is anything else you desire, giving you the freedom to have your day, your way. Sadly, you can't live out your very own Night at the Museum, however being situated in the heart of Derby there is plenty of accommodation nearby to suit every couple and guests needs and desires, whether that be plush pillows or spectacular views. The team will happy to help point out the best places to sleep if you are stuck.
