Hedingham Castle has a colourful history at nearly 900 years old. The Georgian Manor House is now over 300 years old. Civil Ceremony

Say your sacred wedding vows in the Banqueting Hall, lit by the glow of hundreds of candles illuminating your love. The Hall is majestic and fit for a Queen, Elizabeth I to be precise. Start your love story the royal way. Outside ceremonies are also available, overlooking the tree-lined lake beneath the Georgian House.

Marquee Wedding Reception

Celebrate your nuptials in style with your loved ones; with a clink of a champagne glass and the hum of merry guests in the silk lined Ashurst Room with private terrace and lawns. Your wedding breakfast and all its finery will take place within the immaculately presented Ballroom Marquee which is located within the Tulip Lawn, for up to 150 guests.

Castle Wedding Reception

For a more intimate wedding reception, the Norman Keep is a truly romantic location to celebrate your whole day, for up to 70 guests. With views looking over the Tilting Lawn and the finest cuisine served in the Tapestry Room, your wedding day will go down in history amongst your guests.

All catering is provided in house with courtesy and style; couples may choose from 3 trusted caterers. To find out more please contact the wedding team directly.

Accommodation

The Garden Cottage is situated within its own orchard in a private corner of the Hedingham Estate. The bridal party can use the cottage to get ready in and enjoy on the morning of the wedding. The cottage then doubles up as a romantic haven for the newly married couple on the night of the wedding. Alternatively, you may prefer to spend your first night as a married couple in the exquisite Royal Chamber, a brand new bedroom inside the Castle itself and the only one of its kind in the country. Your wedding guests are offered accommodation within the charming Medieval Lodge, which has room for seventeen guests just a stone's throw from the Castle.

    We visited Hedingham many years previously & fell in love with the venue so that when we did get engaged it was always going to be a Castle wedding and here. The team were wonderful from day one and we were able to rely on their experience and expertise throughout the planning process, particularly as I had lots of things I wanted to do that I'm sure any other venue would not have accommodated. It was a once in a lifetime experience to have the privilege to sleep in a 900 year old Castle.

The venue is so unique and beautiful I imagine in a lot of cases it sells itself however the support and service we received from the staff starting from when we were making our enquiries up to the wedding day was exceptional. They are organised and do really take the stress away from you during the organisation and on the day itself. They ensure they know you as a couple and what you want the day to be like and also ensure they know every single detail about the day, your guests and so much more that I hadn't even thought of so the day runs seamlessly. This truly is a very special wedding venue and along with the staff made me feel very special on our wedding day. I am proud to tell people I was married there and would strongly recommend Hedingham Castle if you are looking for a unique romantic venue. I can honestly say, it was the best day of my life.

It was beautiful and felt so personal to have Sarah there from day 1 to our wedding day! Jackie was our wedding day coordinator and was not only the nicest person but also did not spare any moment running the day perfectly and making us feel so special at every step. The fact that Demetra, the owner, was also a part of our engagement, and offered to show our parents round once we had booked our day was also very touching and made it even more personal. Alongside the incredible service we received the venue is just absolutely stunning, and truly worth every penny spent to enjoy our day!

    After having to change our date 3 times, the staff at the castle were so helpful and reassuring all the way through. When the day come, everything run so smoothly and was perfect!
    Everyone commented on how amazing the venue was and loved the fact that each part of the day you experience another part of the venue. Ceremony in the castle, pictures in front of the castle, drinks in the gardens with the amazing lake and then finally dinner and dancing in the marquee. I would recommend Hedingham Castle in a heartbeat and I wish I could do the day all over again.
