Situated a few miles from Northleach in Gloucestershire, Lodge Park is an opulent 17th-century Grandstand surrounded by acres of picturesque Cotswold countryside. Civil marriage ceremonies with up to 100 guests can take place inside the beautiful building, and for larger wedding parties, ceremonies with up to 200 guests can easily be arranged outdoors, surrounded by countryside and wildlife.
The venue does not offer set packages, and instead works alongside each couple to create a bespoke arrangement based upon individual requirements. Lodge Park can be made available to host either civil ceremonies or wedding receptions, or for both!
This grand Grade I-listed venue dates back to 1630, when it was built by John Dutton, spurred on by his passion for deer-coursing, gambling, banqueting and entertaining.
The Sherborne Estate was left to the National Trust in 1982, beautifully restoring the building to its former glory as a magnificent grandstand to a deer course (the precursor to horse racing). To this day, Lodge Park remains a unique 17th-century example of a sporting grandstand in England.
Two exquisite rooms are licensed to host civil ceremonies with up to 100 guests, or for larger parties, ceremonies with up to 200 can take place in the stunning grounds.
The Little Hall - Lodge Park's Little Hall showcases an elegant Cotswold stone floor and an impressive fireplace. There is easy access out onto the venue's picturesque grounds making it an absolutely ideal setting for a drinks reception. The Hall is also licenced to host civil ceremonies, either for 60 guests standing or 50 seated.
The Great Room - This wonderfully atmospheric room is situated on the upper floor, and opens onto an impressive balcony affording beautiful views over the landscape. Adorned with oil paintings and a magnificent fireplace, this room originally served as a banqueting chamber, and is consequently an exceptional setting for a wedding breakfast! The Great Room is licensed for ceremonies with 100 standing, 80 seated.
The Grounds - For larger wedding celebrations with up to 200 guests there is ample space in Lodge Park's grounds for a substantial marquee to be erected, suitable for a sizeable wedding breakfast or evening reception party complete with live musical or other entertainment. Outdoor ceremonies for up to 200 guests can also be arranged.
The Roof - You and your guests will be able to go up to Lodge Park's romantic roof and take in the dramatic landscape of the beautiful Cotswold countryside - and capture some unique wedding photos at the same time (subject to weather)!
Of course, you and your guests will enjoy exclusive use of the house and grounds in their entirety for the whole of your wedding day – the different spaces can be used flexibly to suit your day.
