The Great Barn is a privately-owned 18th century barn located within 250 acres of beautiful Oxfordshire countryside. Bought by the Stephenson family in 1986, this family run venue has since been lovingly restored and converted with the specific intent to make it an idyllic wedding venue.
The Great Barn is made up of two connected barns, both of which can be brilliantly utilised to ensure the smooth flow of your day. Both are licensed for civil ceremonies and The Croughton Room has a minstrel gallery which is ideal for photographers, whilst The Aynho Room hosts the bar and relaxed seating.
Ideal as the setting for your civil ceremony, your evening reception, or both, the Croughton Room has a polished wooden floor which gives it a spacious, airy feel. Its large windows let in plenty of light and it boasts plenty of atmospheric period features.

This more intimate space is perfect for couples wishing to host a smaller affair and can also play host to your ceremony and evening reception. For larger weddings, it's a wonderful area for you and your guests to have drinks and canapés in before going back to the Croughton room for the wedding breakfast.
Both rooms are used together to host up to 250 guests for an informal reception and cannot be hired separately.
Trusted caterer David Kearney has been providing delicious wedding breakfasts, canapés, and evening buffets for weddings at the Great Barn for years. Whether you wish to have a formal sit-down meal, a buffet, or even a hog roast or barbecue, David is sure to create mouth-watering dishes that will prove to be all-round crowd pleasers.
The Great Barn does not offer drinks packages, however they provide a fully-stocked bar for all weddings and offer the option for you to host it as a 'cash' bar, or to supplement it up to a value of your choice. Wine and champagne can be provided by the venue, or can be brought by yourselves for a corkage charge.

It is such a stunning venue! From beginning to end your team has been amazing, helping us organise things along the way and being very responsive to our queries. Laura was very helpful putting our day together and always made us feel valued. On the day itself everything was as we'd asked for. The venue looked beautiful with all of our personalised things in it. It was all so organised and ran so smoothly. All of our guests had such a great day, most of which I would say was down to your hard work. We can't thank you enough for this. We couldn't have asked for the day to go any better!
We had an amazing day! Really just what we wanted! Laura, Jerry and all the other staff were just spot on! I genuinely felt relaxed and just left you guys to it.
